The Golden Gears Car club held their seventh annual car show June 25 at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. The car club has been in existence for 43 years raising money for local charities annually. The club also does a big Toys for Tots campaign every year. The Home Run car show this year featured over 100 registered vehicles, in addition to flea market vendors, exhibitors, raffles, food vendors and music. Proceeds every year for the past several years have gone to local veteran groups. This years proceeds went to Korean War Veterans Association, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 142 and the Frederick Shangri-La Detachment U.S. Marine Corps. During the opening ceremony, the Korean War veterans presented the nation’s colors to the national anthem.
